Farnsworth Art Museum Opens Year-Long Exhibition "Maine: A Force Within American Art, 1890–2026"

Marking America's 250th anniversary, the Farnsworth Art Museum is presenting 150 works spanning 1890 to 2026 that trace Maine's central role in American art — from the 1913 Armory Show modernists (Marsden Hartley, John Marin, Charles Demuth) through Winslow Homer, Georgia O'Keeffe, and three generations of the Wyeth family. SEED: Multi-Site Land Trust Art Project Opens June 26 in Cushing

Artist Lihua Lei Farley (2026 Maine Arts Commission Visual Arts Fellow) partners with Georges River Land Trust to place biodegradable seed sculptures carrying native seeds, poems, and fourth-graders' drawings at sites spanning nearly 50 miles of the midcoast.
